SIPAC Nomination Form: 2017-18

Nominations are due before Friday, April 21, 2017.

Dear SI Parents:

Thank you for your steadfast support of the SI Parents Asian Club (SIPAC). SIPAC’s mission is to create a social network and forum for Asian parents to get to know each other, provide support and assistance. A goal is to create an environment to enable our parents and families to better navigate the SI community.

It is SIPAC's goal to increase the level of parent participation and contribution to the school especially our Father's Club and Ignatian Guild. SIPAC's sponsored events are meaningful and relevant to Asian families at SI. Our events include a Freshman/new families welcome reception, PASKO (a Filipino Christmas celebration), a Lunar New Year Luncheon, and participation in the MLK freedom walk. We have also organized a thoughtful Learning Series, including Career Night, College Planning 101 and Diversity topics to supplement information provided to the broader community through General Parent evenings.

On April 21, we will elect officers to serve for the 2017-2018 school year. Please submit your nominations for the SIPAC positions listed below. We encourage you to nominate yourself too. Nominations will be anonymous. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and the continued success of SIPAC greatly depends on your participation.

PRESIDENT – Presides at all meetings, shall appoint non-elected officers and chairs of committees, approves disbursements in coordination with treasurer, and is an ex-officio of all committees. Supports Events Chair in creating sub-committee for specific events. NAME(s) for nomination:

VICE PRESIDENT – Assists the president and performs duties of president in his/her absence. Creates ideas to increase membership. NAME(s) for nomination:

SECRETARY – Shall keep minutes of all general and board meetings, serves to back the communications/correspondence secretary as needed. Works with President on membership and outreach. NAME(s) for nomination:

COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR - INTERNAL – Shall be in charge of correspondence and publicity. Acts as secretary at general and board meetings in the absence of secretary. NAME(s) for nomination:

COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR - EXTERNAL – Shall be in charge of maintaining distribution list of members and sending email via Mail Chimp on meeting, events and correspondence, Maintains and monitors the Gmail and Evite account. NAME(s) for nomination:

TREASURER – Oversees and monitors account ledger, budgets, and record keeping of disbursements. Coordinates with SI business office regarding financial matters of SIPAC. Approves reimbursements. NAME(s) for nomination:

Events Chair – Organizes, oversees and coordinates SIPAC events. Creates sub-committee for specific SIPAC events.

Alumni relations - Communicates with and coordinates alumni parent participation.
